My T-bird ran 5.50 flat at almost 2900# with a stock block 557 with tfs streets and some epoxy work in the intake side. This was with some not so ideal chassis tuning. My A-head 557 did not impress me nearly as much for the extra money and time spent on the combo.

the current motor I have to use until I get the big motor done is no turd, it ran 6.60s in my fox with 8.5 tires and 100% bone stock factory suspension and I had to be 3200 lbs for that class, it may run close to that 5.90, at 2700 lbs and way better suspension

I'd hold off on buying any parts until you see how well what you have runs. Might need less than you think...

If it's 280 lb with driver and the car hooks, a 466 flat top deal with about any out of the box aluminum head, (possibly bowl blended) single plane Victor, 1050 Dommi, and a good custom roller cam will get you there.

No problem............ My old blue car ran 6.20's at 3200 lb with a set of ported 327 cfm at .600 D2VE's on it.

Yes, your read that right the (D2VE DOOR STOPS) not PI heads.

Nothing wrong with those heads which good fuel won't cure ... detonation prone is their ONLY bad issue.

I like your settup like alot of 340 Chyslers guys did. Got crazy compression that way just a little extra thought on piston choice or longer rod or Both. Valve notches could be a compromise I would think to first ring. Please more on your comb, like thinking outside the box. Just built a 400 335 series and thought this idea would work very well too.
