Thanks guys for following the build.  ----- It keeps me motivated to keep posting.
As for the mini skirt deal.--- With us teasers we figured out it seems like you guys will always come back for another look. Smile  Smile  Smile  Smile
For you guys that would like to help me out with driving chores --- I'm losing track because that list is getting so long.
Believe it or not some of my Cheby buddies said they would like to drive this car that has the distributor on the proper end of the motor. bounce

As far as the debut I was hoping to go to Bakersfield but time is getting away and I need to put a few laps on the car to make  sure everything is working right including the driver before I go to a big race like the March meet. --- On the way back from Idaho I picked up  the transmission which was the last item to complete all the SFI certs. ---  On the reassemble other than just bolting stuff back together there are a  few items hanging out on the wiring and the plumbing.

Notice the 3D effect around the head lights where the grill drops back behind them on a stock grill.

The spoiler still needs end caps.

Another detail to notice is that the lettering tapers along with the body feature as it flows to the rear.

simple to make it a 10 second car, just run the 8th and stop. should pass the quarter marker around 10 seconds while slowing down

Bill  --  Struts are Strange long travel super stock style ordered from Strange with 5" travel. Early in the build I had the idea of putting a flat tappet cam motor that is setting in the corner in it to drive around on the street at our Autorama week end. Idea was to raise the front end for street driving.
The car is licensed with no-op DMV paper work as it sets. As the project grew up the struts ended up having way to much travel. To put a bandaid on the issue travel limiters were added.

25.1E ------- 64 Fairlane - Page 10 Img_1811
This is what I came up with for a tube style limiter.

25.1E ------- 64 Fairlane - Page 10 Img_1812
Adjustment holes are drilled on 1/2' centers.

25.1E ------- 64 Fairlane - Page 10 Img_1810
The Struts have double adjustable valving that helps prevent wheel standing also.

My engine builder doesn't have a dyno. He uses a computer software dyno that requires a lot of detailed data. His estimate is 915 HP. During the build I took the block to another machine shop to bush the lifter bores that my guy didn't have the equipment to do. I had the Ported A460 heads in the back of the truck with the block. They had just finished and dynoed a 557 with the same heads with flat top pistons that made1000 HP. My engine has a little more compression with dome pistons. I'll  dig up the cam specs and post more details on the engine and maybe you guys can give me your thoughts on HP?

Should be somewhere around 1,000. Mine is very similar with less compression and made 970 on Dyno. Your carb may be a little small though.

What size carb are you running?  --  My engine builder selected the 1050 with the idea of a stronger broader mid range than a larger carb. Does this translate into the real world?

Put the Fairline on the scales to get an idea what it is going weigh. With no coolant - fuel - hood or wheelie bars and it came in @ 2207 lbs. Was pleasantly surprised considering front fenders are steel. The hood is being made with .040 6061 aluminum so it is not very heavy but it is way to easy to add lbs. Will update with ready to run weight when totally finished.

Mine is running a Ron's Terminator. The build details are in the proven builds under A head 557 I believe. On phone right now waiting at supply house I have to be on computer to tag links. We broke it in on gas 1050 carb before we put alcohol in. It peaked roughly 300 rpm sooner and 50 hp less. Just my humble experience. I'm not a professional builder.

Fantastic build!!

I think there will be substantial power increase with a larger carb. I am thinking 1250 to 1350 cfm.
Try what you have - then perhaps borrow a large carb to experiment with.

Will be fun for sure.

Cheers
