Measuring Crank Bearing?

What tool is best for crank bearing measurements? What inside micrometer do you guys use? Thanks for your help.

I would think a bore gauge would be best, but that's just me.

Wait until someone else like Randy, Lem, Charlie, or another really knowledgeable person chimes in. But they seem to be the tool to use, just make sure that the mains are all tightened down in the proper order just like you would if a crank was in there. You want to factor in the block warpage when they are torqued down.

Definitely a dial bore gauge and a good micrometer to set it up.

I use a Stanley Fat Max in the 35' version. Most machinists wont let me get any closer than that.
