With a standard Harland Sharp rocker arm the top section of the stud should be 1.84" or longer.  If that seems to be to short with that rocker arm, then the pushrod is probably a bit to long.

The standard Harland Sharp rocker arm sits farther down on the stud than most other rockers in the marketplace.
