Help figuring out nitrous

Just get another .055 jet and put it in there with the one you have and spray it already. A 521cid engine will barely know it's being sprayed with that small of a jet.

Is it worth the little gains to do it though? Or do I get suspension done, put built glide in it, cage it, better rings, bigger cam, port heads and then spray. I want something that scares me (that is the point) if I wanted a bracket car I'd gut it and dial back to 11.00 or build to 10.00 n stop

Starting with the small jet is a way to gauge the difference and see how the car reacts and go from there. You don't have to port heads and change cams to spray and go faster, that is the whole point of nitrous in the first place.

If you want to spray big, break out your wallet or stay home.
