Those studs are Loctited at the factory upon manufacture.
Heat it to over 300 degrees and it will melt the Loctite and come right out.

Carburetors done with a finish like new and other repairs are NOT inexpensive, (as it is a TIME thing), unless you do it yourself.

Buy a Holley book and read it until you understand the basics .. A friend recommended this to me when I built my first hot rod..... You won't regret it... Good luck.

Some shops are for perfomance only I think, and some are geared to muscle car restoriation type work. Don't know how many will do both. There are all kinds of new coatings out that you could apply yourself, some of them used on firearms refinising, like Duracoat and Ceracoat, ect. you may want to consider, as well as some of the other industrial paints as well. I guess what I am saying, it depends what your after, and how much you want to spend. The poster that mentioned getting the carb book and learning how they work, made a very good suggestion. I did, years ago, with the Holleys, and it was worth every penny, in the long run.
