Pros and cons for low tension oil rings

What's the pros and cons for low tension oil rings?

580ci all out drag with crankcase evac kit. .043 .043 3/16.

Pro's - little more HP.... Needs to be used in conjuncion with other proper components.
Con's - possible oil consumption and contamination if not built properly.

yeah...best to be used with a vacuum pump setup, but I have non-vacuum engines that run fine with low tension. Lots of variation in "low tension" setups and this can also vary with bore size. Really need to validate oil ring tension during assembly with a pull scale to know where you are.

During a seminar I remember Kasse talking about how the standard tension rings act like a shock absorber so as to dampin the forces on the rod and rod bolts as the piston changes direction at TDC.... Lower tension rings don't drag or dampin as much....
