I have a 71' 429 build date is April 23 71' with some dove-c's on it and i would love some good input about what would be a good top end combo using the stock bottom with the dove heads. The engine is stock right now just need a starting point and it will be drinking E-85. Any info would be a great help. Thanks.

This is one of our stock BBF in action we are the only one's around running BBF's in these. Just to give you an ideal the engine will be used for.

well its odvious your not looking for an expensive build.... lol!

Seems to me like you've already got it working sufficiently? More power on mud with small tires is useless.

Strait methanol my help keep everything cooler longer?

What kind of money you, looking to spend on the heads? A lot can be done for longevity IMO

I'd probably use. Dual plane intake rpm or stealth and a 750 Holley type carb.. Your really not opening it up much and going to be looking for response.

For the heads i would like to know what Hp i can get out of them using the stock size valves or how big of valves i can use with the stock pistons. Can i put in a set of 2.19 int and not have to notch pistons Basically how big can i go with the top end with the stock bottom and can i get 500 to 600 hp out of it or is that unrealistic. I have to use the Dove -c's I am not looking to make the engine as light as possible i'm trying to keep the weight besides the alum intake. Would like it to be a full roller except for cam bearing. Any ideal combo's come to mind. My goal is to get the most out of the stock bottom. Aren't the block casting # d1ve 6015-aa a cj block that has the thick web mains?

500-600 hp is pretty useless on those tires and conditions IMO I'd rather have 400hp that can go thru hells heat.

What are you spinning the engines too RPM wise? How much gearing?

If it was mine, I'd be looking for Durable HP in the 2500-5000 range.

Good Valve Job and a basic port job with factory sized SS valves and decent springs / retainers
Smaller Performance Hyd Cam, Comp Extreme energy stuff 220ish intake duration @ .050 stay under .550 lift you can reuse the stock rockers.
.080 3/8 pushrods
Performer RPM and a 750 HP Holley (For throttle response)
