Im required to run non roller setups by rules. Im now running about as radical ramp angle as I can. Used to be (back in the old days) you could buy mushroom lifters and run more ramp. What can I do nowdays to accomplish the same effect?

I have not done a BBF, but I did do a 8.3 Cummins for a customer converted to alky. We found a set of 1.250 diameter tool steel lifters and had an 8620 billet cam ground for it. The lobes were so aggressive that they looked like a roller lobe.

The larger the face the more aggressive you can go to a point.

The deal I did had to have roller spring pressures also. So everything is affected push rods retainers ect.

Schubeck lifters the ceramic pointed ones where intended to run on billet cam cores with roller style spec's. They where not cheap and have mixed reviews. They where available as S&M composite lifters awhile back, not sure they are still being made.

You can still get mushroom lifters or larger tool steel stuff too, try PPPC out of NC.
