I can't seem to make up my mind on a build. I can run a few more tracks (bog/mud race) if I run an iron head, 4150 carb, and pull 14"@1000. I'm wondering what kind of tq and hp I can expect.

Flat top 528
Quench of .047
13.5 to 1
Custom solid roller... I have springs for a decent roller 250/600 and .700 lift
Looking to peak around 6400
Victor 4150
C9 heads with motorsport valves...2.25/1.76
Flow numbers hopefully 200/340 @.700

If it won't make 600 I'm going to scrap the idea. I really need to make more though. Very Happy

Here is a link to my 552 build that I did a few years ago. I was in a 17" vac class at that time. https://www.429-460.com/t179-vac-motor-build

Dropping to 14" I would think that over 600hp would be very doable, and maybe closer to 700hp, depending on all of the rest of the engine. Do you have to use a 4150 carb? A dommie would be a lot better, especially on a Mafia intake. Cool

They say small base carb. SV1 would be cool, but It will not make 750 with my porting.

The 4150 series 1050HP carbs do quite well. On a ported Victor, they make some serious power. Twisted Evil

Just a little update to this.

I ended up with some D0OE heads. Should be back from the shop soon. Flow numbers to follow.

I'm still considering a Vac. class build. Any guesses on Hp?

With the DOOE heads with competent port work and a good valve job, you will have a serious performer. Twisted Evil
