Check the clearance of the skirt of the piston at the bottom of the cylinder, when the piston is pulled all the way down. In other words piston skirt to main web clearance.

The cyl. walls are not as long on the D0VE blocks as they are on the D9 & A460 blocks.....D0VE block would not be the preferred canidate for a 4.750" stroke.

Piston side load I'd the msin idsue with any short deck block with that much stroke.

With Oliver steel rods, it takes a slight relief at the bottom of the bore that can be easily done by hand. There is also a few areas at the pan rail that need hand work. With aluminum rods, it is nicer to do the clearancing in a mill, but it is not extreme. ESI has several 632/638/652 shop engines out there with 4-3/4" arms.
