So...
With a standard ( 5/64-3/16 ) ring package and a 15.5 comp ratio on 118 gas, what ring material? <6k rpm.

I may have to try some of those 1/4" rings too. Better oil control. Idea

Imo file fit is the way to go,total seal is hard on the block too much drag, but will help with vacum.

Just get a set of file fit rings from somebody like Speed-Pro or Akerly & Childs and go have fun.

And there's your final answer! A good plasma-moly file fit ring will last a long time as long as you set the gaps properly! Wink

trying to find rings isn't working for me...
on summit or jegs..
4.420 file fit... unless i'm screwing up somewhere...
1/16, 1/16, 3/16
Sealed Power ZR9374065 - Sealed Power File-Fit Plasma-Moly Piston Rings - the only set i can find....
good enough for a race engine with high compression??
