Spherical dish would be cool if the package would allow it.

shorter stroke gives a better rod ratio keep this piston in the bore fully supported and gives lots of options for Ring Packs on the pistons, that is my way of thinking plus gives the heads room to breath with big bore

you would think it would be better from a price stand point to do the pistons and not the heads ........

I would think so to. but some heads are just too fast with small chambers and tight valve angles. I think the BBF is a great Nitrous Head design unless you are spraying major amounts on N20 I do not think much work would have to be done. I have a set of Victor GV2's being done right now and even with custom Diamond pistons i am still having the chamber softening done. but it will see lots of N20 Probbaly use a 250 hit just to start the motor Smile

that was my point on this thread ..... does the bbf head really need this done for a 250-750hp shot ? it seems most of these guys are running sbf or sbc .... i know guys like sammy with his deal said he benefited from it ....

TFS A460 18 bolt, non cnc, 91cc, 18 bolt... and on a side note why does the cnc'd version have a reduced chamber volume of 85cc

It all depends on the efficiency of the chamber and ports, from my understanding of sofening is just a method of getting motion in the desired way from the charge or in other words getting everything mixed even and properly for the application.

I would also be inclined to believe it is not a fix all or magic bullet. alot will depende on the origional chamber shape, how the heads are ported, position of the plug, valve angles and location ect.

1. To the best of my knowledge, the TFS A-460 10 bolt heads are the 91 cc heads with a cast chamber.

2. Lem and I had a little influence on the design of the 18 bolt heads and they have 83 cc chambers as cast, not 91.

3. Now then the newest TFS A-460 -18 bolt heads with the CNC chamber start out with what we call the "X" chamber which is smaller as cast, but was dedicated for being CNC'ed so you get 100% clean-up. In other words, it was meant to be CNC ported from day one. Thus the 85 cc chamber.

Hope this helps,

Charlie

why?... A vs. C...less flow, heavier piston, and not designed for shafts....but my question still goes unanswered as to which head is better suited for a large amount of nitrous.

seems to me where the A deal pays of is when you get them out of the box and ready to run... and thats with ss valves and so so springs. but for brunos deal hes gonna want ti valves and a bigger ex. valve...so there goes the "deal"... but to each their own... to be honest I hope he does go with the A's because I wanna see what they can do, with stud rockers, fully ported, small cid. large does of n2o, and a smallish cam, and all set up for low maintenance and reliability..because thats exactly what I'm doing for round 1.

Phillip Oakley's motors are a good example of that A460's can do.......

But in Brunos case he already has the C460 stuff........ Run what you got.

well then those C's are the closest thing your gonna get to a Thor, unless you have increased your 16000 engine budget to just a head budget,lol...so whats the hang up? I'm really curious as to why you are set on those A's

C460's then......... or Get alot more MONEYand step up to Profilers, Thors or Hemi Heads and 800"s........

Remember "Max Effort" and "Budget" do not belong in the same sentence.
