tire growth rate ???

is there a formula for tire growth ..... size vs. speed ??? and will a drag radial grow as much ?

Rim width vs tread width will also effect the amount of tire growth.

MT says 1.5 inch at 150 for their slick on the recommended rim, but as mentioned beadlocks, width of the rim etc. will affect it.

I believe that was a 28x10.5s.

There are a couple of threads about this on the Bullet that I have saw....In the Drag Racing section I do believe.
It seems I remember reading that the DR will not grow like the slick.

sawzall that shit...............make it fit............it swap the gear too.

It's not that hard to clearance the fenders. You will need some little pieces of aluminum and silicone to fill the gaps you make. Takes about 2 hours for both sides. Then you can fit any of those tires. Hell, we can fit a 29.5x10.5W tire.

the car is already mini-tubbed and shortened axles , the only problem is the wheels that i ordered this last time are the wrong offset ...... so i need a new set of wheels and then a set of tires

what size wheels and offset did you get?

I meant the front to rear clearancing that you have to do. You have to notch the lowers on both. For the taller tire to work.

The HOOSIER DOT Drag Radial in size 315-60R15 has 11.1" tread width, 29.7" tall and weighs 30#. Both the Hoosiers and Goodyears are considerably lighter than either the BFG's and M/T's. Unlike the BFG's and M/T's which are actually intended for street use, the Hoosiers and Goodyears warn that even though the tires are DOT rated- they are not meant to be driven on the street! If your having issues getting your slicks to hook, I doubt if it would be a good idea to try drag radials! My car is 99% a street car, so I ordered a new set of Hoosier 325x50x15 DOT drag radials for my car. From what I've heard from guys that run high powered cars in NMCA True Street, I'm confident that they will hook better than my current BFG's- BUT THEN AGAIN THAT ISN"T SAYING MUCH!!!!!!! Trim your quarter panels and run the tallest and widest slick that you can fit. But not too big, because Stephen says "BIG TIRES ARE FOR SISSIES!"

15 x 10 w/ a 5.5 bs ..and it has the wheel push right up against the fender ... ..i need a 6.5" bs and then i want to try the 29.5 x 10.5 s ....

i am using the 5.5 back space now will have to go to the 6.5 to lower the back of the car any. 15 by 10 5.5 bs now

then dont be surprised if you leave some 1/8th mile et on the table with it geared for the 1/4.................

so if i were to keep the same tire deal ... what gear would you run in my deal to optimize it for 1/8 mile

whats the trap rpm in the 1/8th?

it may be a deal the converter is too tight................you get it real aggressive down low either combo its gonna want that bigger tire......unless you are restricted to the 28 I would get the 29.5 on there.....then tune the gear and or converter and go from there.

do you have any pics on what you are talking about

The radial tire cars are big here. I really doubt that some of them can get a #2 pencil between the quarter panel and tire and they do not rub.
