Internal engine paint

Hi everyone,
Whats a good paint or special coating to use? Id like to seal the rocker surface of my heads when they are done soon.

no paint needed on the inside IMO

Can't remember the name but its electric motor epoxy, I wouldn't waste the time or money on it

That be Glyptal paint you talkin bout, its cherry red paint that you brush on. It is mainly used to increase oil return flow. But IMO just oil the parts up if anything, oil splashes all around in an engine so nothings going to rust in most cases.

Hey, Al....I figger your time would be better spent removing some casting flash and smoothing things down a bit in critical drainback areas. If I wiped a set of bearings (or worse) and then found paint chips in my oil pickup screen , I'd never forgive myself.

X2, take a deburr kit and do thing like radius the oil return holes and smooth the paths to them.

Eastwood sells it, it was developed by GE for electric motors, I think its called Gliptol something like that. Block has to be totally clean to stick properly. I think the same stuff was used inside the 9" Ford carriers, same reddish color.

If it was mine Al I wouldn't do a thing,But,if you must,then use the Glyptol or whatever it's called. And yes most all elect.motors are painted w/it. I would'nt put anykind of paint in the inside of my combustion engines.

Personally this is a waste of time, it not only cost time and money, but what if it flakes off and gets in your oiling system and wipes a bearing? Then you just payed to crater your own engine......

If you feel you need better oil control polish the valley, other than that leave it alone.....

Ok I have worked in the industrial electric motor businness for 18 years I have seen literaly millions of endplates
stators armatures painted with glyptal. I have built my own engines and many of my friends in the past 30+years AND NOT ONE OF THEM WAS COATED WITH GLYPTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a bunch of reasons why
very simply put polish and remove the casting flash clean up the oil drainback holes and leave the glyptal for
what it was intended for electric motors. Please take my advice as it is one of the the few times I will call myself a expert on any subject.

I well planned to de-burr everything anyway. Reason I wanted to coat the heads was to keep the rust away untill I get them on the short-block. But Ive found a special storage coating from Goodson that Im gonna try.

If it was me, Id just bag em and put them under my bed. The WIFEE wouldnt go for that

Wanna see what's under my bed? I assure you there are no monsters, I brought everything out to check inventory. The intake, carb and air cleaner is on a table in my room so when I wake up I see that along with some other engine parts. Warning! There are a lot of links!

I know, but I had so many links and I didn't want it to take forever to load and take up a bunch of space. Should I put it in the IMG format?
