where would i find what these flow out of the box and ported?

Are you talking about the A429 heads?

yes a429's. those are the ones before the kaase scj's correct.

Their are some numbers on here, or you can try Stan Wiess's web site.

thanks. i just bought some that are ported. i'm replacing a set of dooe-r with these. i'm hopeing to gain a little from my iron ones plus i'm saving weight.

A lot of what could be gained or lost as far as performance will depend on the abilities of the person who ported them. Spend a little money and get a qualified person to flow test them.

heads by rick did them. what does it cost to have a head flowed?

Shouldn't be much, pocket change really. Sometimes they'll do it for a 6 pack and a $20

typicaly under a $100 as long as they are clean and disassembled.

Remember 2460, those heads are a set of the "clippers" you will be held back with valve size.

You will pick up over Iron CJ's though, don't sweat it.

it depends what serial # they are as for clipping valves....

they have been fixed and dont clip anymore

trust me Randy, they are clippers, but they have been turned down, and I have been 9.02 @ 148 @ 2650lbs.

Actually, (a lot of people don't realize this), those heads all have identical intake ports but, the reason for the "clipping" is that the exhaust valve major angle is 14°, (instead of the normal 15°), and thus the need to run a slightly smaller valve. However, this makes the exhaust port different and is also very slightly better flowing.

2.200" intake valve and a 1.760" tulip exhaust valve works awfully well in those heads.

What is the motor your sticking the Heads and Intake on.

a .060 460, h-beam rods, arias forged pistons, balanced, .660 lift solid roller cam, victor intake, 1050 dominator, 2 1/8 headers. thanks

Bring 'em to the BBF Bash and sweet talk Uncle Charlie or Mike, maybe he will put them on the flow bench for ya' Or just drop them off and have them shipped back to you...
