no fan, no radiator, in fact I use oil pan and block heaters between rounds.............have a gas primerplus system now so I can generate some heat in the lanes when I have to wait on an oil down.

Motor sits at 34 degrees timing, tune is pretty much dead nuts, all steel braided lines, 16an on top, 20an on bottom, brand new motor, mezier water pump which I bought from Lem, griffin radiator, twin 10 inch fans with custom shrout........I do know the feed hose running to the housing runs a little up hill, will this cause any problems??

1bad91, How much compression are you running? Running that hot after 3 hot laps would be considered normal IMO.

Re: Guys with Foxbody BBF!!!
I kind of agree with Rick if 230 degrees was after 3 hot laps.I wander if you could fit 2 electric fans that are a little bigger.I have a 89 Mustang with a 466 BBF Flat top pistons and Ford Racing Aluminum Cj heads.I have a Autozone waterpump,180 degree thermostat and a Howe 19"X31" radiator with a 15" water pump driven fan and a 5.0 Mustang fan shroud. If i'm cruising along about 55 mph it will stay at about 180 to 190 degrees depending on outside temp.If i'm putting along under 35 mph the temp will creep up to about 200 then i turn my electric fan on.I think on the Fox Body 87-93 cars the big problem is they just don't get enough air through the front of the car at low speeds IMO.

I agree with the air not being enough in this car, I looked a little closer and realized they really dont get much air.

One 15 inch electric fan, tried just the electric with the flexilite fan removed, no go needs the fleilite more than the electric even without running a fan shroud

Re: Guys with Foxbody BBF!!!
I have a Weiand mechanical water pump (slighthly overdriven), 160* thermostat, Be Cool radiator, Be Cool (Spal) dual 11" fans with integral shroud and it will idle for long periods of time and maintain 190*. The engine is also lowered 1.5", which puts the intake below the level of the radiator.

I don't know if this helps you any, but of the 2 Fox body 460 T-Birds we run, my '87 Turbo Coupe uses a 17 inch flexfan and the shroud from a 86-93 5.0 Stang. (pics below) That car has no grill and has to pull the air thru the radiator from below the bumper. Runs great @ 185 with a 9.0 to 1 CR 460.
Disregard the following if I looked over it in one of the previos posts, but you need to have a 1/8th inch steam hole in your thermostat to help "burp" any trapped air in the block.

Sorry, senior moment, car would overheat with just thw 15 inch electric fan, running a flexilite fan on the crank pulley without shroud solved the problem. I don't even use the electric, only if it goes above 180.
