It looks like i have to replace my comp cams retro roller 34-432-9. The distributor drive is buggered up. Anyway i found the cam very noisy, i even removed my aluminum valve cover because of the valve train noise, they echoed. Since im replacing it, any suggestions on what cam i should look at that will still work with my lifters and pushrods. It a 501 scat stroker with srp dished pistons with about 9.7-1 comp. ported dove heads, headers, performer rpm air gap and a sniper efi.

Use a solid roller lifter & cam or a good flat tappet grind.

I am wanting to keep cost down and reuse my lifters, springs and hopefully pushrods. Im leaning toward a voodoo hyd roller and see if it quieter. Not sure if a crane or howard would be any different? Live and learn, i should have went solid roller but compcams talked me into the hyd.

OH ... they are Comp Cams hydraulic roller lifters.
Now I understand your plight; good luck, the noise problem is probably not the camshaft.

The ones I have tried to use are usually noisy like a regular " high rate leak down lifter" is, when running.

Well i guess i bought the marketing. They calm lowest leakdown rate but i guess compared to what. Well ill try this voodoo cam, hoping pushrods will still work and see what happens this weekend. So much money for a set up i was hoping would be more reliable with todays oils.
