Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI #35680 for Ford 429/460 Big-Block Engines
I first posted this under the "engines" section. I thought this may be better.
I'm building a semi-mild, street 521 CJ. The heads are mildly ported CJ iron heads, street hydraulic roller cam, headers, in a 1971 Cyclone Spoiler with a C6. I don't want to put the heavy cast iron intake back on or the carb, but because of the ram air set up, I can't go too tall with an intake, without modifying the air cleaner base. I didn't want to do that, so I'm trying to find another way to go. I thought about the Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI #35680 for Ford 429/460 Big-Block Engines, but I'm not sure how compatible this is with CJ heads. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks for reading.

I asked Edelbrock a few questions regarding manifold fit on the iron CJ heads. This was their reply.
Yes the ports are different, we will suggest to bolt it on out-of-the-box, you are only flowing air through the intake manifold with direct port injection...
No mention about port matching. I was surprised, because I always thought port matching was important.

I did port match to my D0OE-R CJ heads. Maybe not necessary, but it makes me feel better. I used Fel Pro 1231S-3 intake gaskets. One other issue about the Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 is the height and width, 5", of the distributor. If you plan on installing the factory air cleaner, the base will not clear the top of the distributor. I'm going to add a 1.75" spacer between the throttle body and the air cleaner base. It's either a spacer or I cut up the air cleaner base. I only hope the hood clears.

updates on this?
I'm interested in your progress with this. I'm particularly interested in this Edelbrock setup with the ram air setup. I have a 521 with Kaase heads going in a 69' Cougar and would love to put a shaker or ram air on it but am worried about the hood clearance. Also, I can't seem to find many reviews on this Edelbrock EFI, other than a couple from Summit Racing, which aren't outstanding. I would like to hear from others that are/have used this part.

Axshun, I'm sorry I never got back to you. I kind of died on my post. My 71 Cyclone has ram air, but it doesn't protrude through the hood. I had to raise my ram air assembly one inch, with a spacer above the throttle body, so it would be to the factory installed height. No issues at all. I did install an Edelbrock cable adapter for the throttle cable and trans kick down cable. The original Ford kick down arm did not work. I purchased a LoKar cable for a C6 trans. You are probably driving your car by now.
