598 notchback first pass!

well fellas finally took my 93 notchback coupe out yesterday for its first passes and boy do I have lot to learn
track announcer said time trials were from 5:30 to 8:30. and when I finally got up there to get my run in he also announced that I would only be able to get one pass in for the night so I had my brother-in law with me who never been to the track and help on my car! and close friend who been with me plenty of times but acted like he forgot everything I told him to do for me when they call my lane! its a bbf 598 motorsport heads that's been ported and polished int 2.300and ext 1.88 valves in it. 13;86:1 COMP TRICKFLOW A460 INT SINGLE 1250 INDUCTION SOLUTION SINGLE FOGGER ON IT WITH A 350 PILL SITTING IN IT! did not use the fogger last night just wanted to make first passes on motor alone! well it kind went like this, burnout wasn't that good, should of did it longer. first time using transbrake that was fun to use, will be using that a lot! slicks are old, and converter is real tight (nitrous converter 4400). don't think it even got that high on the transbrake off the line! all in all I had a blast! I let go of trans button and it spun right on the hit! 60' was terrible 1.826 330' 4.968 660' 7.618 89.72mph 1000' 10.303 and 1320' 13.084 73.10mph man all I got say is once the motor got passed the 60' it came on so strong that it scared the %$&*@# out of me so bad I got out of it, let it coast to the 330' and got back in it hard, and why did I do that this thing broke the tires lose while I was still rolling 80-90mph and the power came on again like a ape ass! I just let roll threw to the end and ran a 13.084 at 73.10mph! felt like I was going 30mph at the end of the track but it was 73.10mph:shock: got back to the truck and trailer and everybody came over to me who I did'nt even know and said they love the car and how it sound and ran, I didn't like the pass myself, but I know I need more seat time and bigger balls everybody also thought I turn on the nitrous on that pass the way it sounded! these bbf are the bomb! all in all love the info on this site only get it from you guys no were else! will be buying new slicks for next year to solve that problem!

As long as you have fun it don't matter how fast it was. Sounds like you have your hands full!

yea cool40 got some video of that pass but if some one can post it for me let me know and I will shoot you the video to your phone! it was spinning bad even though the converter was lugging the motor down bad! think it only stall around 3800rpm if you ask me! man when I turn on the nitrous next year its going to fly

Car is good been together for years,no roll bar though drive it at least every Sunday when the weather is warm and no rain.I haven't raced it in years working Tuesday-Saturday 2nd shift doesn't leave much time to go racing!!! I did make it to 1 car show with it on September 10th!!!

heres the crappy pass I made last month before the track closed for the season! it boog out the hole for starters! got to get a 1450cfm carb, got a 1250cfm on it now!
anybody looking to trade a 1250 for a 1450.let me know
