Yep, a spring like the PAC 1224 [same spring included in the TFS 340 package] will be plenty for his application.

So if I go with a set of A460s in the 450/350 range @.700, what kind of cam am I looking at?
How about lifters? I've used Jesel and Crower severe duty in the SBF.

Either one of those brands are great, Jesel being to top one.

Might even consider upgrading to a .904 or larger lifter to, it's a good upgrade for durability.

460s with the standard stainless steel 2.350" 45* intake valves and a well ported head is easy enough done.

The Jesel stuff is badazz [as you know] but depending on budget. The suspects for a good lifter under $800 are: Crower s-d w/hippo, Morel ultra pro, Crane ultra pro.

I hear Morel come up a lot. Must be popular for BBF. At this level, is it worth considering a .903 or .927? Always ran .875 in the SBF, lifts were around .800

.904 and .937 are usually very close in cost and in the case of lifters they say bigger is almost always better.

Picked up some older ported A460s. 2.35/1.94 titanium valves, 74 cc chamber, T&D shaft system.

They are Badass. I think this is a good start
Oddly enough, I set them on the bench next to a set of my A3 heads (old hi-port Cleveland stuff) . The similarities are uncanny

If they have a 1.94" exhaust valve I'd bet they are FMS.

FMS. They are big, definitely not as efficient as the new CNC stuff, but I think they'll do the trick
