F apply or FF apply lever?

I am gathering parts to put a spare transmission together and the local tranny repair shop that also builds racing tranny's recommended the FF apply lever, but I think Frank recommends the F apply. What is the difference and which would be better for a drag only tranny?

A = 1.65:1
B = 1.73:1
D = 1.97:1
E = 1.85:1
H = 2.18:1
F = 2.30:1
FF = 2.82:1

The higher the number the more clamping force is applied to the band but also has a slower apply action .if memory serves me right .

E lever is what you want

Frank Uses the E lever with the R servo . My understanding is those F and FF are only to be used with stock smallish servos .
Used with an R servo can apply a lot of force and possibly crack the main case

R servo with an E lever and too much pressure will crack the case to.

never cracked a case with an R servo & a D or a E lever , all the cobra jet trans had an R servo and an E lever

Pressure was at 220 all forward gears. The valve body was a Dynamic transmission reverse pattern brake. R servo with an "E" lever

Posted pictures, but there gone now . Oh well doesn't really matter.

Note that my problem was Excessive pressure which caused the case to crack. As stated the R servo and "E" lever is the performance package. The case will be fine provided the pressure is is in the proper range.

There is several different ones , A is fairly common .

Airford , there was a local guy here that also cracked a case the same as your pics . I believe he had a transgo manual conversion valvebody but not sure what the servo and lever was

Thanks guys, I had ordered a tbrake valve body and F lever from Broader, so I called and asked him to change it to an E lever.

I used to have an FE C6 case that came from one of Holbrook's old race cars. They had pre-welded those area's where the case may crack.

The thick cast Aluminium pans can help stiffen the case as well

The FE case with the welds also had a thick deep sump aluminum pan.
