I have run a couple customers carb/engines on the dyno and it never impressed me enough to buy one or recommend buying one.

Every combo ive seen w one had issues, but im sure they work fine for some folkes. i think Barney has one and likes it.

If your engine makes less then 700ish hp. then a sv1 isn't really for you. I just received another one yesterday to dyno with.

Motor is a 605ci A head.made a little over a thousand with a nos cam.

When you get them fine tuned they are as tame as a street carb. Throttle response is a lot like injection. Patrick is very helpful and knowledgeable.

You may not be able to get a lot of help from Patrick, he was in a car wreck and is busted up pretty good, long recovery.

I run one on my 466 A429 head motor. The bad is they are finicky. The good is when you get them right they are bad to the bone. Patrick converted mine from gas to alcohol and sent me the blocks etc. so I can change it back to gas. Basically I have 2 carbs. in one. I have found that it is about 2 1/2 mph faster then anyone else running same et as I am. The tech line is very helpful and Patrick if he doesn't answer always calls back. I haven't gotten mine tuned 100% but it is close. Bad thing is Patrick was in a bad accident over the weekend and was pinned by his legs for 40 minutes and is in hospital with multiple broken bones. Legs, ankles, feet etc. Not sure who is running everything now.
That said I have a friend at the track that runs one and loves it. Has only had to change air bleeds to make it work and speaks highly of the carb.

I agree completely. I also switched mine from Alc. back to gas. Easy conversion. Very Happy

I've got one on my 572. Like it a lot. Great idle. Runs great. Mine was a used one that came off a tunnel ram pro stock engine. They used it for testing and said it made more power than any of their dominators. They campaigned to get NHRA to allow them but couldn't get it done. Sold 2 matched sets. I didn't do anything to mine and it runs great. I'm sure I could send it back and get a better calibration and it be even better.

the one I had on a little engine 472 didn't make much more power, about 8hp more then the 4v that was on it,but picked up 22tq . engine made 600hp with 4v so we just left it.

they work good,and really good if you have an engine that can move some air.

I ended up buying it. Got a sweet deal on it. It was on a good friends BBC 590 ci some type dart heads. It ran 5.00's but turned into a million tiny pieces when the crank broke. His combo was very similar to mine even very close dyno ## it was a great tune up for his I plan on puttin it on my victor and running it with a foggèr. I will keep the 2x4 on alky with plate system.

Did you go with one of the LARGE SV1? I was on Patrick's web sight and saw the thing can go to 2600CFM on a single SV1. Now that's pretty damn impressive. Half the fuel lines, rid of the linkage concerns, wonder about distribution of a single feed on a tunnel ram base???
