I just bought a 429 to replace the 390 in my 1973 F250 4x4. It came out of a 1974 F250 4x4 Im told, and being that the four speed and transfer case lever for the divorced case is attached I belive him. My question is this motor has a front sump oil pan. The 390 has a rear sump, as does a friends 1970 F250 4x4 with a 460. Thoughts? Thank you in advance.

The front pans aren't that deep it may work.
