Change of intake for my street car

Hey guys,

I posted in the tunnel ram on the street thread. Currently I have a 532ci bbf with ported D3 cast iron heads. They are ported to flow enough air to support 650hp. I used a fairly big solid roller, but don't have the specs on me. Compression ratio is 11:1 and it runs on pump fuel. The engine makes 650hp/675 ft lb with the tunnel ram. Unfortunately I had some issues with the police last week, and as such, I need to change the intake and carb setup to keep it all under a scoop.

I have had so many different opinions on intake, I don't know what to go with. As long as I make 600hp, I will be happy. What intake would you use for a street engine as described above?

- Blue Thunder dual quad intake ( I currently have 2 950 cfm carbs/linkage kit/fuel lines and reg for tunnel ram )
- RPM Air Gap
- Victor 460
- Other

Also, if changing to a single carb intake, what sort of carb would you use and from where?

I like the air gap .. Put one of the 950's on it. Sell the rest.

A close friend who I trust said the same thing. Air gap and a big 4150. I was leaning towards this combo over the Victor/dominator.

The mechanic down stairs said go the Victor with a dominator.

That performer rpm is a good intake .On my 466 powered 67 comet bracket car I swapped it out for a victor it picked up .015 and maybe 1-2 mph this is with a quick fuel 950 and 6000 rpm shift point .In your case with that many cubes if you have a dominator carb go with a victor and if your application is more street oriented and you don't have a dominator go with the performer rpm air gap .Just my two cents .Doug

Use a ported dual quad "Blue Thunder" and keep both carburetors for the "look" and still make the power you are making now with better street manners.

You asked me to post pictures of my Blue Thunder, dual quad intake with carbs and intake and the reason I didn't is that I don't know how. Sooo, I am going to call a person who knows how to and learn. Pictures will be posted shortly.

Holley carbs will fit on that intake also as long as you change to regular side hung float bowls.

I'm voting for a Victor and an 2 circuit 1150 dominator...... Keep it simple and make power.

X3 I would convert the dominator to run E-85 on the street! JMO!!
