I need 16 fast Ford's Labor day weekend

The Ford expo will once again be held Labor day weekend at National Trail Raceway. I have been working with track management to bring back the exitement of the old days with this event. One of the classes I pushed for was a quick 16 race and it is going to happen. Fastest 16 cars on the property, 1/8 mile. $1000 to win. Non qualifiers get into the bracket race at no extra charge. I want this event to be a hit with racers, car show entries and fans.  So load em up and get to NTR for their own Ford only event. Also, another side benefit is the Millersport Sweet corn festival is going on the same weekend for night time enjoyment and its only right down the road from the track. If you like sweet corn, ya dont want to miss this. Hope to see everyone there!

Thx for posting Gary. I hope its back the way it use to be before NMRA almost ruined it. Now that they are gone it should be great again. Me and Dan might try too bring Harolds car up and try too sell it for Sheila in the Swap meet. See ya there.

what would you guess the time would be to make it in the Q16 roughly?

Q16, is that door cars, dragsters, or both combined?

Maybe only a few of them skinny cars will show up.

Not sure what the bump will be. Yes dragsters are included however I am not sure how many Ford powered dragsters will show up. I think it would be very unusual to have a big number of them especially with the US Nationals going on that weekend.

This sounds cool. Unfortunately our camp is down two cars this year, but next year we may make the trip over for this.

Should'nt be a problem. Not a big showing for Ford dragsters in the past,but the ones that DO show are quick.

As long as your one of the fastest 16 on the property, it don't matter if its a 4 banger...

That sounds like a fun event.
Too bad I already entered to race at Indy.

Not the good ones.  Putting dragsters on the trailer is great sport. And if car and driver do what they're supposed to do, a Checker cab can send the other guy home. Tune the car, trust the car.....

Last month at our $5000 B1 race, there were 12 dragsters in the field of about 60 cars. By the time I went out in the 4th round (.0007 red) there was one left...not exactly normal, but it happens.

Not the good ones.  Putting dragsters on the trailer is great sport. And if car and driver do what they're supposed to do, a Checker cab can send the other guy home. Tune the car, trust the car.....

Last month at our $5000 B1 race, there were 12 dragsters in the field of about 60 cars. By the time I went out in the 4th round (.0007 red) there was one left...not exactly normal, but it happens.

That was Harolds favorite thing to do. He loved putting those "engines on a stick" back on the trailer.

I remember him jokingly saying he would gladly go out in the 2nd round if he could put a stick in the trailer on the first.

I thought they were talking about a Q16 headsup race. I love racing dragsters in bracket.

MUST BE FORD POWERED ... YES ... the flyer says the quickest 16 cars on the property ... electronics OK.

Should be a really good race.

Are pit spectators welcomed and how much is that entry...?  I may make that trip just to mingle with acquaintances if it seems feasible.
