What does it take to make it work? I thought I remembered seeing it takes some grinding.

I have a 4" SV-1 on mine and have no problems. Just make sure you put the tapered spacer on right. If not carb. gets stupid. I learned he hard way.

It came with 1/2 inch spacer and that is all I run.

Would cutting the top out square change the distribution much? Seems Patrick is against any form of a cloverleaf with the sv1.

I agree w/Pat. A clover leaf would hurt imo. Open spacers aren't that expensive.

I ground the cloverleaf out of mine and run with no spacer.

I don't mind running a spacer(s) or doing a little grinding. I'll probably do both. Very Happy
