does the block need machining for clearance with the 4.5 stroke crank?

A 545 with SCJ heads and a 214/224 hydraulic roller cam?

I know its a truck but WTF?

yea.....I dug out part one of that build and it has a caption showing how much clearance it has....no need for machining.  That means all 429/460 rebuilds that need a crank should get the 4.5  lol


Pretty mild cam it seems for 545 inches(does have .6xx lift). Im so amazed it still made right at 1 hp per inch. That engine should idle like a stock 460. Im curious as to how it would have done with a holley 4150 carb.  I love the "stock" look even though I think its sac religious to paint those aluminum heads and intake  Smile
