Finally made it to a final at Gateway today.

Finally! Made it to a final at Gateway. Its been a long time since I was in a final. And it was an all Ford final at that. We took out two Dodges in the semis. Didn't get the win but runner up wasn't too bad for me. 7 rounds should help me in points as well. Thanks to Lem, Charlie, and Dave McClain for the help with the motor along with all of the good advice I have gotten on here over the years.

Congrats mike. I understand they had a Fun Ford Weekend there at Gateway. Proud of you! Charlie

Charlie, Fun Ford is next weekend along with 2 other bracket races mixed in. They are making up one of our points races that got rained out on Saturday. On Sunday they are having a big bucks race in addition to the fun ford eliminations. Should be a fun weekend. Hopefully we can carry on the momentum. Bring some of those fords up from KY. 3 opportunities to win.

Nice! What times were you running?

Been running 10.11-10.13's in the heat. Still shifting at 6000 RPM. Ran 10.04 at Bowling green a few weeks ago. I still need to find the best shift point. It pulls pretty hard when it gets above 6500 going thru the lights. I need to do a little testing to find the optimum shift point. Been too busy making it consistent and finding my spot on the tree. Haven't worried about making it much faster. Still would like to get it in the 9s so I can say its a 9 second car but I really don't care to mess with all of the NHRA certs, license, etc.

I was just wondering how you guys were doing. My dad and I took the old 67 out to Wide Open Wednesday last night. Its only the second time we tested the car since all of the changes. Hopefully I'll run into you guys down there soon.

How did you do at the Fun Ford Weekend? I didn't get a chance to run down there. However, I will be down at Gateway on Aug 10th for that All American Hot Rod Showdown.

1/8 ths on Sat. in the Gateway points race. 1/4 finals on Sunday in the Fun Ford race. Lost to a friend with an 8 second lenco shifted Maverick. Another friend Aaron Worstell got runner up and Kenny Gresham won the final. He's the one I lost to the week before. He's on a roll. That's the only bad thing about the Fun Ford is I know just about everyone I had to race. I'll see you in a couple of weeks if I don't tear anything up tomorrow.
