Firing new motor. Solid roller cam. Is it a certain way to brake this cam and motor in?

Nothing to break in. Just needs to make sure the rings get seated.

I didnt use any of the quick seat stuff.

Use both feet to get up on the converter and power brake it in front of your neighbor's house. Twisted Evil

Im wanting to fire this thing off with alcohol. Is there anything special, any tips, tricks or trades to it opposed to using gas? 14:1 580ci. Would a 1150 alky work on it?

It will work, but its way to small. Gas will definitly make substantialy more power in your situation.

IMO you need to at least break it in on gas to give the rings a fighting change to get seated properly.

even if your gona run alky you should start it on gas,IMO. gas will start easy,heat up fast,and seat the rings.if you must use alky be sure and have something handy to put out a fire Smile prime it with gas for the first hit....

Gas it is. I for sure want the rings to seat properly. I was mainly looking toward alky because i felt it would be cheap to crank with as far as stock water pump, cheap radiator and basically no fan. I auctually got a stock water pump bolted on. Now to figure out the best way to stay cool with it. Regular v belt or drive motor?

I always fire my new engines dry and let it run till I can feel the heat on the outside of the front of the head then shut it down let it cool and repeat and hour or so later then put water in it and run it like you stole it....but thats just me....

I start and break in (seat the rings) on alky, never an issue.

Is regular castrol 10w40 ok to use for breaking in this engine? Do i need to add anything to it?
