Besides the oil pan, where can I put a sender for oil temp? I don't want to pull the engine and pan. Would a drain plug adapter deal work? What's a good temp to shoot for before a 200' mud run? 528 steel rod, iron head 20/50 oil.

i have put a probe in the drain plug and thought it worked well. Temperatures between 160 to 180 should be in the desired range.
