I was thinking about doing this when I was having starter issues and not running one then trying to locate a new one, apparently Ford decided to quit making them and there are alot of laser and water jet places around me. Just wondering if enough need to have a run of them made up and what would be a fair price. I was thinking about $75 would be fair (the one I finaly found at a dealership was $79. Of course I would have see what it would cost first of course gotta make a couple dollars.

Let me know.

Thanks Lem!
I was on an airplane and did not get to check the forum for a while.

Yes... I offer the block plate in many optional forms. I have one design that is perfect for either a C-6 or JW Ultrabell, includes the factory starter hole dimensions and is "trimmed" on the driver's side for air flow to the converter. Another popular plate has the same features, but is a 32" mid plate. I just installed one of those in my '58 last week and was happy with the fit. It made my old hand-made mid plate sail to the scrap pile!
I have another plate that fits a "stick" bell housing with a 184 tooth flywheel.
I can laser the plates from any desired material, but .100 steel is standard for the mid plate. I can make them thicker, thinner, steel, stainless, or aluminum...whatever the application requires.
I even make a 1/2" aluminum adapter for a Glide to BBF...that one gets CNC milled due to the thickness.

Later, I will post a picture....

Thanks

Yeah...I should have posted them on here for sale sooner. I had some at the Bash on display and have been "fine tuning" the design file since then.
Please don't let that discourage you if you want to create parts like this. That is exactly how my business began, creating parts that I could not find (or did not like what was available)
Competition is good.....right?
Thanks,
Keith

True, just curious what do you charge for a standard automatic plate, seems used engines never have them?

I will double check the price on Monday, but I believe it is about $69.

You are right....some folks toss the plate and do not realize its purpose until they wipe out a few starter pinions and ring gears.

Thanks,
Keith
