This is not my actual wheel, but it is the same size wheel and tire that I will use---a 16x16 Beadlocked wheel and 33x10.5W tire.

The bars are gonna be nice and tight









I spent the afternoon cutting some unnecessary stuff off the k-member (the motor mounts and the rear a-arm mounts)

Very nice setup. I have looked at lot of build threads and honestly have not seen a 4 link tied in like this. I really like the fact that it is tied into the main hoop and bowed back for driver size or weight movement off the front. Glad you built the car you wanted and I think its pretty cool to cut up a Shelby and make a nice race car. I'll be down your way in early April and would love to check this car out if time and work allows.

I had a little spare time yesterday so I cut some more stuff off the car.  The front frame rails, shock towers, and firewall must remain in order to be class legal for NMRA Outlaw 10.5. There is still a little more to cut here such as the faux firewall.  I'm looking into having a carbon fiber front clip made, as I don't think anyone makes one yet for the 2010+ GT500 body style.

I tried to get more specifics on who makes them, but he really didn't to divulge any details.

Nice pieces, thanks for sharing. They look similar to the GMM-4 or GMM-5 Pro Mod version that Jerry Bickel offers, but with larger pocket milling and less ribbing than his. Very cool , You can really fine tune the rear suspension with that setup.

UFB!!! Man you must have balls the size of small... scratch that, LARGE PLANETS! Cuttin up that car takes all of them. Dam cool.
I cant wait to see it carrying the front wheel over the stripe!

No updates--project is on temporary hold. I just moved and started a new job. I'm hoping to finish the chassis this winter.

I don't think I'd have the funds to get it running by spring...at least not in the turbo configuration. Possibly NA...

You can still get a lot of fine tuning done on the chassis and such even with NA, plus get some nice mild runs on that motor before you put the pressure on her! Keep us updated, great build!

Partially completed structural tree to support front bumper cover and fenders. The front clip will be removable as one piece with the hood as a separate piece.

That's going to be a hell of a race car, beautiful work. And to the "but he ruined a Shelby" f##k em, it's just a car and it's gonna be more bad ass than before
