Roller Cam Bearings Install Cost

Machine shop working on my block says that the no. 4 cam bore is about .001 off centerline. Also says that the ID is about in the middle of the tolerance. He suggest grinding down the no. 4 cam journal .0005 (cheap fix) or installing roller cam bearings. Anyone have an opinion on this? Also, what is the going rate on machining a block and installing roller cam bearing?

Need some fast responses...need to give him an answer in the morning to keep my place in line.

Hone the cam tunnel to the high side and install the wide/extra clearance cam bearings.......polish the journals a little as needed.

$450 to bore and hone the cam tunnel here in GA.

Dura-Bond offers a .005" oversize O.D. cam bearing set #FP-30R
For an easy fix, have all the bores line honed to a +.005" dimension and use the over-sized O.D. set.

Personally, for a single thou, I'd run it as the oil clearance is suppose to be more than that.
