Got the cam in, trying to figure out how I can get the dial indicator square with the lifter. The head is getting in the way...

Figured it out, now I have the rockers soaking in oil as we speak...

Cam degreed. lifters in, rocker arms temporarily on, timing cover was a b***h and I may have to send it back once I got the dial indicator set up the cam was dead on the money, its scary

The two holes on the bottom for the oil pan bolts didn't line up right. It kept cross threading.

Wasn't a dorman re pop was it? There bad about that.

Most of the covers I get that are repoped I usually chase the threads to make sure there good to go

I don't know if it was repoped, but the threads were fine. Its just the location of the bolt holes.

Yeah I'll have to get some this weekend. I was able to borrow a long enough caliper to check the pushrod lengths so now I am able to get some work done. After that, I will put the intake on and order some parts. I need to (don't want to ) take all the inner springs out so I can break the motor in. Parts I need:
balancer
pushrods
flexplate
headers
I have the money to get all except I might not be able to get a flexplate, dad is supposed to check at a trans shop out by work to see what their price is.

its a cat balancer , you can use the stock pointer , send my your addy and its yours

Sell ya a brand new scat sfi flexplate new in the box never bolted on for 50 bucks i got it from Lem its internal balance or i'll give ya a stocker and also have a stock balancer as well you can have but i would jump on the cat from B if i was you.

What bolt circle does the Scat one have? 11.5 right? For c6 trans? I need 164 teeth but I'm sure a different tooth count would work with the stock starter right???

Alright, figured out the pushrod length, got the intake on (I decided not to use the valley pan) the carb, spacer, and fuel lines were already bolted to the intake and has gas in it, and the air cleaner is on. Pics will be here soon.

a diffrent tooth count would not work as the diameter is smaller but yes its for a c6 and 164 tooth. Lem sells them for about 60 plus shipping the reason i have a extra one is i'm doing a motor for my buddy that was supposed to be internal balance and i didnt check the # on the crank and the balance shop called and told me it was my bad for not checkin the numbers so i had to get the external balance one plus the hachet weight and all was good. I don't have paypal but i'll ship it to you and you can send me a check for 50 bucks when ya get it i'll go snap a picture of it right now.

Alright, parents wont know its coming but when it shows up I'll say "well I gotta pay him the 50 bucks" I will PM you my address, Man you guys are helping me a great deal and I REALLY appreciate it!
