Crower stainless 1.73 rocker
Jomar stud girdle
Horsepower Innovations 1050cfm 2 circuit carb
Cen-Pe-Co 40wt oil
One Ethanol "S 112" E85 fuel
Best was with 34-35* locked timing
Really all we did was add timing from 30* starting, and increasing RPM each pull. We tried a few minor adjustments, but kept it basic. Jomar Power Cone and bumping timing from 30* to start. A couple minor jet changes. That was it really.
Made 14 pulls in total, used ~8 gallons of fuel
I personally believe we left power on the table, but time and my lack of tuning experience kept us from finding out. Power was still on the upswing, so it possibly would've made peak in the 7K range.
I still have a lot of learning to do, novice at best and in for the learn as always.
Best power and smoothest curve result was
822hp @6700
691tq @5700-6000
All in all, the owner is pleased we got to stretch its legs for 12+ pulls and things are seeming happy after doing so.
But I'd have loved to nickel and dime our way to seeing the best it could do on a safe tuneup. Maybe its close.

Big shout and credit to those who listen and giving feedback/direction when I screw this stuff together, and also supply me with parts and service after the sale. Lem, Eric, Charlie, Pat, etc.

I'm liking it and agree that it would have gone over 830 if you would have ran past 7k. Did you use those BAM's without modification?
It looks like a strong reliable build.

Yessir lifters ran out pf the box, no mods. This is the engine I shared video of the rockers oiling while running. My thought is
1. We used the older D1 block, but I did not actually check bore clearance.
2. Want to keep as much oil as possible in the bottom
3. We’ll monitor spring pressure and parts under valvecover closely in the first hours of run time and watch for anything degrading rapidly. I finally purchased an LSM on-head spring checker.

Joe,
I didnt see those videos until now. I am getting the same amount of oil as you. Its not much but probably okay. At 3,000 rpm the oil flow up top picks up substantially. If you ever plan to go to Milan Dragway let me know.

I’ll hopefully run my A460 block/head 562” with the same lifters, BUT with modified. Priming it while not cranking was night and day oil amount. Enough to I’m now wondering if it’ll be too much up there. I’ll take video and post on that deal too.
