no start 94 f150

Trying to help a buddy get his 94 f150 going. It quite in my driveway and when you ture it over nothing untill you stop crancking it over and it gives a little spuder. Had this problem with a 1982 f150 and it was the ignotion box but not sure with the newer ones

I was thincking that relay or what ever it is on the side of the distributor but thot I'd ask before I told him to go get one

That is the ing. box on it take a special wrench/socket to get it off make sure you use electrical grease behind it when you reinstall it

Its called the tfi module is it not? Is there the same thing on the fender or is there one or the other?

On my 1995 it was on the fender. You might try turning the key to on and jumping the starter solenoid and see what happens. Not saying it will work but, it almost sounds like an ignition switch if it is trying to run in one position. I would check for spark and also fuel pressure before you start throwing parts at it.

The solenoid is already runing to a buton and we tryed a spash of gas in the intake and nothing changed

Get a spark plug and hook it onto one of the wires and ground it and see if you get any spark. If not then you have a problem with the ignition, ie module, coil, ignition switch, wiring ect.. Be careful on the fuel injected vehicles if you pull a plug out and crank it, it is a fire hazard as the injectors will still spray fuel, saw a guy get badly burned once when he made that mistake.

Truck started right up like nothing was rong this morning. Hate that have to figure it out next time if it quites again.

the module on the side of the dizzy needs changing ask for the TFI Module at the parts store buy a good one the cheap ones don't last long

I found two in my miscellaneous parts pile. I gave them to him to try next time it quites. Ones a good one.

My 94 F150 was a California truck with mass air and the module was on the fenderwell. But the actual pickup in the distributor failed and had the same symptoms you described...
