well the old 514 is done and the cylinder are a mess so this is what I'm looking at doing
stock block will be filled. It all ready has roller cam bearings and all 16 lifter bores bushed
4.470 bore 10.295 deck height
4.50 forged crank
6.800 H-beam rods
diamond 14.5cc dome pistons (40724 with a size change)
comp custom cam. lift 839/780/duration 277/286 111.0 lobe separation and a 111 intake center line
the heads that came off the motor are Ford Motorsports A460 with a 2.30 and 1.88 valves but have a 79 cc chamber and no port work ever. I figure the Motorsports head gasket at first and the compression is 16.2. Thats .038 compressed or sub a .052 gasket which would be 15.5.
old style A460 intake (again no port work) and a 1050 dominator with a 1"SPACEER AND THE DEDENBEAR THROTTLE STOP, jesel shaft system, MSD dist and ATI dampner.
so basicly i'm changing the bottom end and the cam and reusing the heads and everything else. please remember the I race at 8800 feet+ pretty much all the time.
This is a back up motor for either Super Comp Dragster we have

X2 the Old Motorsport stuff isn't very good out of the box. Big gains to be had with the proper port work on them.

Dog gone your "back-up" stuff far exceeds my primary stuff! I do have a question to further educate myself. I understand the compression/altitude approach, at those compression ratios how do the main housing bores measure up and do you notice any movement of the main cap?

Dave.

DAVE THERE IWAS MOVEMENT IN THIS BLOCK BUT THERE WAS A LOT GOING WRONG HERE. CRANK FLEX, LOOSE DAMPNER MAYBE A TUNE UP PROBLEM AS WELL

(SORRY FOR THE CAP LOCKS AGAIN IT'S WORK)

so we got a neew block bored and align hone so it will be a new 557 with the diamond pistons 14.5 cc domes. as far as the heads. I have had them sent to Phillip and he performed his majic and ported them and broght them up to like new /better standards. as for te cam I will not be using the cam as the cam was spec'ed for a 4.562 bore motor and i feel this will hurt the performance even with the new and improved A heads

PS the other block will be a 560 and will get custom 4.450 pistons and total seal rings at some point.
