I posted a 468 E-85 combo(on paper only) for your evaluation I guess the rods were too long and the heads were wrong.

How about the 4.14 stroke cast crank idea, these can be had for around for $259-370 online.

+.030 overbore with that crank should build a 501 CID engine; assuming forged pistons(11-12.5:1 CR) & 6.8 inch forged rods, out of the box Ford SCJ or TFS Street heads with this Comp Cam solid roller grind (PN: 34-713-9) 260/268-at-0.050 stick features 0.726/0.726-inch lift and is ground on a 108-degree LSA, a Victor Single Plane Intake, and a 1050-1150 E-85 Holley Dominator what would yawl say it would make?

700+hp mine has a solid roller 267/275 with a 110 LSA with @ the same lift and it made 740hp at 6800 rpm. If you can get a 4.3 stroke crank for the same money def go that way.

I.M.O. use a 4.300" crankshaft = 521". Put a few more degrees of duration in the camshaft & get wider on the LSA....maybe 110*.

I'd spend a little more to get a forged crank if it was me. I built a very similar combo with a cast crank. It lasted 200 runs but tore a lot up when the crank broke. I had to build a whole new short block. Saved the heads and intake but everything else is new. This one has a 4.3" forged crank. JMHO.
