Well I was talking to a guy and he wants to trade one of his carbs for some parts I have. I'm just trying to figure out which one I should go after. He said he has the following:
650 or 750 holley dp, choke horn milled off (he said it needed a kit or something, probably a rebuild?)

850 holley dp

850 dp demon that was used for only the break in period. (seems like BG's are a love/hate thing?)

I could use the 650/750 on the small block, or maybe the 850 on my big block then swap my current 750 onto the small block. Right now my 460 has a 750 holley vac secondaries with one metering block. The cam isn't really big, .554 lift, 230@.050, worked over D0VE-C's, lower compression and dual plane manifold.

Not sure when the guy bought it. It's probably an older BG one. But either way, would 850 be a bit big for my setup? I mean, I have a 750, both small blocks we have can take a 750 Laughing The big thing to me is it being a double pumper, so I should get some response out of it. As it stands I know I have to tune what I have because it seems to stumble. It's straight out of the box right now.

An 850 will work fine on a 460.

I'm thinking, once I tune the 750 I have now, even though its not a double pumper. I should be able to make the throttle snappy. Change the jets, pump cam, squirter nozzel and secondary springs. I'm hoping to make it have great throttle response.
