Im sure the floors were really bent up with the impact. But how bad is the body from firewall rearward? Could the outer sheetmetal be used for a pipe-rack?, was curious.

I hope the crank/etc is okay too. A hit like that will kill end-play in a hurry. Hopefully the engergy was released byevidence of that trans housing crack.

Years ago a local yard by me had a 70 Boss 302car that hit a telephone dead center. It had a 2FT camel-toe in her! .Plus the motor was toast.

I'd look the tranny case over real good, even then I'd be leary of it. I'm sure Coug has one.

Thanks for the help Gary. I talked to Randy last night and he has glide case, Chuck said the Dan also offered a case so we should be in good shape there. I wish you could drive down and look at the car and give us your opinion. There's a LOT of stress marks all over the body, roof and even the passenger side quarter. I think the frame is tweaked beyond repair. The shocks are at an angle from the drivers side wheel hitting the wall and moving the rear over. IMO Chuck needs to start with another car. I too hate to see this happen but in the long run I think it would be better to retire ole blue



We don't "piss around" and I have to admit, I had a little too much fun cutting the front off the car Next step is to finish stripping the car and investigate any damage to the engine. I agree with your Fabio, It would be best to just get another case, I don't trust that one since I found the crack in the tailshaft housing.

I looked at the car fairly close at Bowling green. I can't see how he could ever reuse the car. It was bucked across the roof c pillars quarters. I bet the floor pan is torn or at least buckled also. That was a hell of a impact.

No telling what's damaged or weekened that you can't see. JMHO

Well that's what we were talking about looking into but then Coug presented us with another option. If we are going to build a whole new frame for this wrecked car, why not build the frame for a "More Complete" car. So Coug has offered to donate a 70 Fastback Body. So I believe Chuck and Eddie are about to take a trip to Texas and pick up the new project. We still have some things to strip off of Chuck's car.

Off Topic: Our friend Rob is bringing us two HUGE air compressors to "Store" for him, I'll hook up the 220 compressor and use it until he needs it back just gotta unload them today with the Bobcat.
