I use the O.E.M. silicone coated steel gaskets from a later model F.I. engine. They require FLAT valve cover rails and covers.

The Cometic are as tough as I have seen.
Re: valve cover gaskets
Cometic are the best I’ve ever used! Probably been off 50-75 times and still no problems. They’re a little hard and don’t like swapping around or they’ll leak till seated back in.

I've had good luck with the blue silicone, steel cored ones from Moroso. Take them off often to check lash and no leaks
