Don't worry Lem. They (the Chinese) won't get the runner taper right. As you know, the manifold has been in the hands of Darin Morgan, and he has taken all of his measurements, done the calculations and has given it his stamp of approval.

yeah it will "look" like the real deal, but as usual the performance will be very lacking..........

Let's see. At the last Winter Tech Seminar, Bret Powell, Colin Wigle and Randy Bischel went on top of the list. Then Blake Cartwright and Randy Moore, whom both did the dyno testing, are on it. So I think you are 6th on the list. Very Happy Razz

They will let us know when the manifolds are ready, and then you'll be able to get them through Lem at B.F. Evans Raceparts.

It is very similiar to the current Track heat manifold, however the carb pad now accepts 4500 Dominator, the runners were ported and raised.

Boy am I honored! 1st on the list!!! Like a Star @ heaven Charlie what is the target RPM window for oh let's say 470"? Are the exits just a bit on the small side for custom fitting or pretty much CJ sized?

The runners are like they were at last year's Winter Tech Seminar. They are tall and narrow with room for you to do some left and right port matching to your CJ ports. You were the one saying you wanted a "Super Victor" for the Ford, so we're trying our best to give you one. The thing to remember was that we back to back tested it against a couple of fully ported Victors that had plenty of plenum work, radiusing and etc.

On Randy's P-51 headed 562 CID engine, it made peak torque of 787 @ 6,000 rpm and 950.6 @ 6700, 950.6 @ 6800, 951.3 @ 6900, and 950.7 @ 7000 rpm, and that's where we stopped the dyno pulls. I don't know, in hindsight maybe we should have taken them higher. I'll leave it up to you and Colin to really take it upstairs, but I see no reason why it won't feed a 470 CID engine at 8,800 rpm or so. I expect you to fully port yours, but at least you'll have something better to begin with out of the box. Wink

There is over two pounds of Aluminum wire welded into that manifold. There is a ton of work that can't be seen from the pictures. I know how many hours Charlie has in it welding and porting. I doubt anyone would want to pay to have it done , and I don't know if Charlie would want to take on another one. ( MAJOR AMOUNT OF R-D AND WORK)

It's really what TFS should have done in the first place instead of making something so similar to the 15 year old Victor we already had. It's also really a shame it takes someone like Charlie to have to make something and make contacts so to speak.... that should have been researched and built by a manufacturer. I really appreciate it and hope Charlie gets something for all the hard work and efforts.

Meanwhile perhaps Edelbrock will tool up and make another dozen styles of BBC intakes to fit a BBC. Rolling Eyes

I think Charlie , Lem, Phillip, Jet Boat Bob , Laws , and I am even going to add Blake to this list all deserve a pat on the back for making this happen. They have all spent time, money , etc on welding ,porting , tuning, designing cams and time and money on the dyno with different engine and head combination's.

I don't care what anybody says when you can get 890-950+ hp out of a naturally aspirated conventional headed engine you have done something. I don't think everyone appreciates what an accomplishment that is in its self.
