6.2 turbo Empty 6.2 turbo

Post  snuff98 February 27th 2018, 12:21 pm

Just wondering if anyone has tried to turbocharge a 6.2 raptor or f250 engine and run it in a drag car. Just toying with the idea, I have been selling alot of my 460 stuff and have a good 6.2 core and some turbo stuff that I ran on a 429 many years ago. I have been trying to find out the actual weight of a 6.2 compared to an aluminum headed 460. Weighing out options to make 1000 to 1100 hp in my tube chassis car to run eighth mile bracket races.

I've been thinking about my next build (few years away) and was thinking of going the 6.2 route myself.

Have you found anything out?

Been toying around with the idea of the 6.2 but the aftermarket is more geared to the rich raptor owner then the hot rod market.

I’ve been considering the same sort of thing. Done a fair bit of research into it. Diamond makes 11:1 pistons for the 6.2, and someone makes good rods. I suppose a good set of custom cams, headers, and some sort of intake upgrade would be a strong runner. I refuse to pay the astronomical Livernois prices for one of they’re products. Turbo or SC would defiantly help them out. Heads flow 320cfm around .550 lift stock.

Also found this build thread, answers a lot of questions.
