MSD 6AL-2 Box and MSD 8984 Starter Saver

I put a new 6AL-2 ignition box and had to put in a MSD 8984 Starter Saver. I have the wire from the crank trigger going to the starter saver and nothing to the 6AL. Car wont run as its not getting a signal. Wont this 8984 work with this box? How would you wire it in with just using an MSD Dist?
When I ordered this stuff from Summit the tech said it would work. What hooks to the 6AL to get a signal?
