i searched and found several threads on the block plugs but what about the two in the front and back of the heads? not the screw in ones. the little push in ones. what i wanted to know is, how do you get them out? i haven't started yet but i thought maybe a slide hammer? it might work on some but i got one that's rusted out. the only thing left is the rim. with the block ones, you just knock them in and use a pair of channel lock pliers to pull them out. smaller pliers maybe? what's your ideas? thanks, gary

sheetmetal screw and pliers have always worked fine for me. and I've torn down some pretty nasty ones before.

another trick is if you have blunt nose punch you can just hit on one side a few times until it turns sideways then grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers. this method may not work if they're stuck really hard. As a last resort you can always drill it out then peel/pick it out in pieces.

Use the appropriate sized "Easy Out" and see if you can twist it out. Use some penetrating oil.
