Breather set up for valve covers Empty Breather set up for valve covers

Post  6jeff6 October 19th 2015, 1:35 pm

I have a chrome ford racing breather in each valve cover. After a couple runs at the track they both leak some with passenger side leaking worse and smoking happens from oil getting on header.
Is there a way I can run hoses or something instead of letting it leak out and cause smoke? If so please step me in the right direction because I'm afraid when I do a class next year they may shut me down.

Vacuum pump. You could do a panvac to the headers also.

Are you running mufflers? They recommend not using it with them, so you might ask around. If the mufflers are low enough restriction you might get by.

They are low restriction mufflers. Flowmaster little ones basically flow right thru. I am kicking around the idea of running just headers nothing else

There where three or so other kits on the link I posted. Some were less then the Moroso, so it's cheap and easy to try. If it does not work out no biggie. You can make a few passes uncapped and see if it helps your time any, it is the only way I know to tell.

That's the sucky part. It takes some full throttle blasts at track to see if it works but from what I've read you are spot on. Well I guess I can either cut out mufflers or just run open headers and scare children haha

Sounds like you are ready to Smoke some Shelby, now. You want to go hunting, I think there may be one in Bama to bust up?

Haha was great to run a 10.4 but there was an 03-04 cobra running 8.9 that was impressive. He also used his own stuff to pour in burnout box which I hate.
And if it's the one you told me about I need nitrous and lots of it!

There was a super snake I'd like to revisit now that I have my chit together. But he was from mn and only there for muscle car day.
Maybe a winter run south after I get cut outs and oil vacuum system installed

I would paint those pipes and make a full pass, and see where the paint burns back to. Cut the pipes there and put the 3"'s if you can where the burn ends.

Muffler is only a couple inches behind collector so I would literally have to put right there if I want to keep exhaust where it's at.

NO. I would not do that to you, that one goes 8.60's. Shocked I am talking about the one with all the red junk under it.

I would go with the 3" cutout. Put it where you can, but don't go redesign the whole exhaust system for them. I don't think they will help anyway, or very little. You probably would be better off skipping all of this and putting your money towards a Vacuum pump, especially if you ever intend to spray it.
