New cylinder heads Empty New cylinder heads

Post  schmitty December 13th 2013, 11:10 am

Saw the new cast iron Eliminator heads at PRI. I will post a few pics when I get home. Mike Bowery said that he can make this head with either the "A" style, or CJ style intake port, and either the chevy or Ford style exhaust. He had a machined head there with the A port and chevy exhaust, that was pretty impressive. These heads all have stock valve geometry, so if you have a good set of pistons already, you will be able to upgrade without having to change them. He said that aluminum versions will be out in the near future also. Another product that is now available from them is a block that can be decked down as low as 9.5".

Was talking to Randy Malik at the Columbus Super Swap. He designed the same type of cast head. His looked pretty promising.

Yes, the New Eliminator heads will be offered in any combinaton of A460-style or passenger car-style intake and exhaust ports (including a "high port" variation for the passenger car style), and they will use all pre-existing intake and exhaust manifolds and gaskets. And they will be available in your choice of either iron or aluminum. Has Mike coined a name for them yet? (He called over here asking me to pitch him a few name ideas.)

The short deck block has had me excited for some time and I've struggled to keep that one under wraps. I forget the actual standard deck height....9.825" maybe...but they can be decked down to 9.50".  There are already a few of these blocks out in the field and going down race tracks.

He was leaning towards F460 for the A style, but didn't know if there would be any kind of litigation problems with that

I think that the Shmitty Krew helped sell lots of BBF parts. I made a few bucks off their autograph session too, I rented the table.
Thanks,

My prototype is slightly different with the valves moved apart a little for more "Valve to Valve" clearance and an "A 460 intake valve ANGLE" but, with stock production port locations at the intake & exhaust flanges.

Could have named the new cyl. heads something original like Q51 or P52.

They seemed to have a certain amount of heft to them. Heck Freeloader was too chicken to even try.

Under $2500 for a machined set, depending on which port configuration. Mike flowed that head with the A style intake port and it was close to 400cfm with no porting and just a standard 45* valve. Some bowl work, and a competition 3 angle valve job will improve those numbers substantially. Thanks for posting the pics Alan.  Cool

He told Branden and I $2100 with seats and bronze guides inserted. I don't profess to be a head porter but from what little I know, these heads have huge potential. I'd say close to 500cfm.

It is illegal to enter the PRI show with a camera unless given special permission; whoever signed the form to get a ticket for entry is responsible. Everybody has a cell phone, though.

This rule is to protect venders from being copied and they have grounds to sue if they desire when a photo of their product comes out of that show.

This isn't enforced very often but, it CAN be.

Well Mike was standing right there talking to me when I took those pictures and he did not not object. He even moved out of the way so I could get good pics. I even mentioned that I would spread the word on a couple forums because the puller's would be all over these heads.

As Mike has told me a few times, he is not an "internet kind of guy".. He asks his dealers to spread the word on the forums.

So that's what we do.. Me, Rob and guys like Alan.. we are spreading the word..
