How good is the stock distributor ? Should I go with an MSD Pro Billet or would a stock one be o.k.. This will be on my 533 P51 headed truck pulling engine ( hoping for around 850 hp ).

i seen a few big inch motor running them and it seem to work for them. myself im running a reworked stock ford and dont know if a msd unit would make more power or not. they are not as easy to curve the advance as a msd. there is a post somewhere on reworking it thats what i used or just google it

The stock Duraspark unit works well. Mine is locked out at 34-36 ish degrees of timing and my ignition box pulls 20 degrees out at the start. Works fine for me.

Don't forget you'll need a Bronze Gear (If you Running a Roller Cam) and Connector for the MSD Box.

The MSD distrubutors aren't a bad deal..... once you figure everything you'll need whit a factory one.

But the Factory ones do work just fine.

This is not always true, the cam manufactures will tell you what you need.
