Jason, welcome to the site! The Fairmont/Monarchs are built on the same platform as the Mustang. Everything should work!....Jason

I have not personally did a swap. they are based off the Fox platform...1979-1993. there are a few on this web site that has done the swap. give them time to respond....you will need oil pan, pickup, mounts, headers for a 429/460 fox swap for a mustang

yeah the rectangle looking thing underneath the engine block. - get a rear sump pan from either an aftermarket supplier or a stock type from a truck in a junk yard or FRPP.

Tristatev8 wrote:Pickup?

the tube that attaches to the oil pump and reaches down into the rear sump of the tank. You should get it from the same place as you buy the oil pan. Dont forget the main bolt also.

Tristatev8 wrote:Mounts????

Motor mounts. Several aftermarket companies make fox swap motor mounts in both poly and solid.

460 swap pans for Fox mustangs are rear sump.

460 swaps are so common in this era car Im sure one of the vendors here sell, or could piece together, a kit containing everything you need with one swipe of the ol' credit card.

btw, welcome to 429-460

Monarch is based off the fox platform just like the mustang so anything that will fit a 460 in a mustang will work in the mercury.
